Summer is upon us, and I don’t know how hot it is where you are at, but, over here, it was a scorching 90 yesterday and needles to say the AC in my car broke. Summer is here ladies and that means it’s time for a fresh change! There’s nothing more I love than soft, feminine tresses that frame the face, so I found the perfect how-to on getting soft and flirty tresses without all the hard work.
Step 1: Shampoo your hair with a non-straightening shampoo such as Herbal Essences Toussle Me Softly Shmpoo and Conditioner.
Step 2: Apply a volumizing wave-enhancing mousse at the roots and work through to the ends on damp hair. Tilt your head to each side as you blow dry your locks using a diffuser.

Deep Hair Conditioning at Home

If you’ve ever dyed your hair at home you know that you get that deep conditioner that leaves your hair super soft and manageable. Unfortunately, you can’t buy just the deep conditioner alone, so you end up spending tons of money of conditioners that claim to do the same thing. Well after spending money on those said conditioners, I wasn’t really satisfied. I didn’t really find a difference between my regular conditioner and the so-called “deep” conditioner.
So just a few months ago a friend of mine gave me a great beauty tip that she uses at least once a w...[....]

3 Simple Steps to Shiny Hair

We all want full,  beautiful, youthful looking hair, and that means we just want lots of shine.
Why?
Because shiny hair simply passes off as healthy hair!
Did you know that the smoother the hair cuticle, the more shine it reflects?
When a hair cuticle is damaged, light gets absorbed into cracks and crevices, making hair look dull. Therefore, you need to fill in those cracks and use the right techniques to smooth the cuticle. So here are 3 simple steps to help you get the most shine out of your hair!

       For Straight Hair

 Step 1: Cleansing
Before you get that shine, you need to cleanse your hair of all the built-up gunk from hair products that’s accumulated over time. For this, use a deep-cleansing shampoo once a week. Start by applying conditioner first from your ears all the way down to your ends to provide a protective barrier on the strands that helps prevent tears and split ends from forming. Continue by applying the deep-cleansing shampoo only to your roots, lather, and try rinsing with cold water to help seal and smooth the cuticle.

Step 2: Prep
Apply an anti-frizz serum or polishing milk to towel-dried hair. Make sure you run it through the hair using a fine tooth comb – this will ensure that those cracks and crevices get filled with moisture instead of being blow away when you start to blowdry. Finish off with a volumizing spray for a little pick-me-up.
Step 3: Finish and Style
Use a blow-dryer with a nozzle attached and point the airflow only downwards to help ensure smooth cuticles as you dry. Finish drying your hair with cold air from your blow-dryer and apply a shine spray or frizz serum to ends for ultimate shine

 For Curly Hair

Step 1: Hydrate
Start by using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, as curly hair tends to get a lot dryer than straight hair. For best shine results on curly hair, try washing every other day so you don’t strip the hair of its natural oils.
Step 2: Prep
Apply a frizz-ease serum or a shine curl-enhancing spray/cream to wet strands. Comb the cream throughout the entire hair using a wide-tooth comb because that will make the cuticle lie a little flatter.
Step 3 Finish and Style: Twist inch-size pieces around your finger, then scrunch the spirals up, shaping individual curls to make them more uniform. Finish off by blow-drying your hair with a diffuser or letting it air-dry to reduce heat damage.

10 Tricks to Avoid a Bad Hair Day

We’ve all had those days where we roll out of bed and realize our hair is just one big mess. And even if you’ve washed your hair the night before, it still looks blah. So how can you make sure your hair stays perfect all day? Here are 10 tricks to avoid a bad hair day!

#1. Baking Soda

As strange as it may sound, baking soda is actually a great friend for your hair. While you’re in the shower, sprinkle a dash of baking soda into your palm and mix with your shampoo. Rinse and condition as usual. The baking soda helps remove impurities and build-up so your hair comes out looking shiny, soft, and super manageable.
#2. Work With Your Bangs

You don’t always have time to wash your hair in the morning, so why not just style the surface? Wash your bangs only, and throw the rest of your hair in a cute, messy bun.
#3. Throw it in a Bun

This is what I do most of the time when my hair is a mess and I don’t have time to wash it. Just throw your hair in a chic bun and top it off with a sleek black headband.
#4. Add Volume

If you’re having one of those messy hair days, just flip your head forward and add a little bit of hairspray. Flip your hair back and scrunch with your hands for a sexy, messy look with tons of volume.
#5. Baby Powder

Baby powder works great for absorbing the oil in your hair. Just sprinkle some into your palm and rub into your hair. Not only will this absorb the oil, but it will also give your hair an extra lift.
#6. Back to Day One

Your hair always looks great right after you wash it, but what about the next day? Not so hot, right? Well to get that day one look, just put a showercap over your hair while taking your shower. The heat and moisturize from your shower will reconfigure your hair, making it softer, and more manageable. Just blowdry your roots a little when you’re out and you’re as good as new!
#7. Tease

Tease your hair a little to get more volume. Start by teasing the crown of your hair for that gorgeous, back volume. You can also do the front as well as the sides.
#8. Ballerina Bun

There is nothing more elegant than a simple ballerina bun. Just throw your hair into a small, tight bun and add a pair of pretty earrings and some lip gloss. If you sleep with the bun, let it out the next morning for that wavy, just-out-of-bed look.
#9. Dry Shampoo

Yes, there is such thing as a dry shampoo, which is basically a shampoo that you use on dry hair. You can find this at almost any drug store. Just scrunch it in through dry locks and you’re good to go!
#10. Switch Parts

If you’re getting tired of the same old look, grab a parting comb and switch sides. Switch your part to the other side or right down the middle. It makes a huge difference.
