Baby Fashion Clothes

How to Dress a Crawling Baby

When your baby begins to crawl, it's important to dress her in clothes that allow her complete freedom of movement. Follow these steps to appropriately clothe your little one as she begins to explore the big world around her.

Instructions:-

1. Purchase clothing with non-slip material on the portions of the clothing that are affected by crawling, including the knees, elbows, feet bottoms and toes. This material will give your baby a little extra padding and the traction she needs when learning to crawl.

2. Dress your crawling baby in overalls, which are roomy and durable, allowing your baby plenty of freedom to move in clothing that will withstand a lot of wear and tear.

3. Ensure the clothing you purchase is made from tough fabrics, including denim and corduroy. Your crawling baby will spend a lot of his time moving around on the ground, which can damage or stain delicate fabrics.

4. Clothe your crawling baby in pants that are form-fitting and not too baggy. Baggy pants can bunch at your baby's knees, which will make it difficult for her to move around.

5. Buy pants with elasticized cuffs, which will prevent the pants from riding up when your baby crawls around.
6. Consider purchasing knee pads for your crawling baby and dress him in them to protect his knees from bumps, scrapes and bruises while he's moving around on rough surfaces.

Tips & Warnings

  • Babies learn to crawl and walk best barefoot. So, weather permitting, leave off your baby's socks and shoes while she's crawling around the house.

  • Avoid clothing your crawling little girl in dresses, which impede movement when the fabric gets stuck under her knees.

How to Dress for a Baby's Baptism

To share in the joy of a baby's baptism is a memorable experience.
This special occasion calls for dressy attire.

Instructions:-

1. Consult the parents about the formality of the event. Business-casual clothing is appropriate for most baptismal ceremonies; however, slightly dressier attire may be expected of godparents.

2. Consider slacks with a shirt and tie, if you're a man, or a sweater and sport coat. A dressier option would be a suit. Pair loafers with slacks and lace-up shoes with a suit.

3. Select a nice dress, if you're a woman, or a simple suit for a dressier option. Keep skirt length to the knee or longer; pair with low, comfortable heels.
4. Choose bold colors that complement your natural coloring. White and lighter colors may betray any of the baby's blunders on your shoulder.

5. Keep jewelry neat, as the baby may grab on to a dangling earring or long necklace.

Homemade Baby Dresses

Baby dresses require only very minimal materials to create a charming and adorable end result that you can use for your baby, give as a gift or even put away for a future grandchild. You can sew, knit or crochet a handmade baby dress, working from scratch, a commercial pattern, or free online patterns. Baby dresses can be a quick and easy project or an heirloom to be saved for generations, but in either case, a handmade baby dress is an excellent addition to any little girl's wardrobe.

Sewing Baby Dresses:-

  • One of the easiest options for a handmade baby dress uses a ready to wear base. Purchase a onesie style bodysuit, then gather a length of fabric approximately twice the diameter of the onesie. Pin the skirt into place on the onesie right sides together, then stitch down. You can also opt to use a commercial or free baby dress pattern to sew a baby dress. Easy sundress styles are ideal for babies and toddlers and can be worn with or without a shirt and leggings for year round wear. Keep all trims and buttons scaled appropriately for the small size garment. If you are making a heirloom garment, use mini piping, very delicate lace, and narrow satin ribbon.

  • A Hand Knit Baby Dress:-

  • Hand knit baby dresses are a sweet addition to any baby girl's wardrobe. You can opt for a simple jumper style dress or a more elaborate lace dress. A vintage style round yoke jumper or dress in a fine fingering weight yarn is an especially pretty choice and can be worn year round if a long sleeve tee or onesie and leggings are worn underneath in cooler temperatures. A round yoke style can also be worn for two years in many cases, used as a dress the first year, then a top the second. Keep laundering ease in mind when knitting for babies. Cotton blends work well in warm climates and superwash wool is an excellent choice in cooler ones.

  • Baby Dresses in Crochet:-

  • Crochet is a very good choice for a quick and cute baby dress. Avoid heavy yarns when crocheting for baby, and work with a slightly loose gauge to keep the fabric flowing rather than stiff. Avoid yarns that might be scratchy or itchy. You can make a jumper, a short sleeved dress or a long sleeved dress. Long sleeved crochet baby dresses are especially warm and cozy in the winter. Add a pair of tights or hand crocheted legwarmers to finish this winter look.
